Immersive EPS Foam Installation
and Environmental Design for
St. Coletta of Wisconsin

This immersive design project was created for St. Coletta of Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization serving nearly 200 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Coletta offers staff members the opportunity to apply for a pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy, allowing them to walk in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi and experience the spiritual roots of the organization. Because not everyone is physically able to make the journey, St. Coletta President Ted Behncke charged the marketing team with a unique challenge: bring the Assisi experience to Jefferson, Wisconsin.
This project allowed me to fully explore both environmental graphic design and sculptural installation, transforming a simple hallway into an engaging, story-driven space. Every element—from large-scale wallpaper and acrylic standoff displays to custom foam-sculpted pieces—was carefully measured, designed, produced, and installed through all phases of the project. Some components were professionally printed, while others were entirely hand-crafted, adding depth, texture, and authenticity to the space. The result is a visually rich, walk-through experience that captures the spirit of Assisi and allows staff, visitors, and individuals served by St. Coletta to feel connected to the journey simply by walking the hallway.
This project is also featured in the Hotwire Foam Factory Gallery (below), recognizing the creative use of foam fabrication in a nonprofit museum quality immersive environment and experience.
