Watertown Riverfest Logo and Festival Design, Wisconsin

Born and raised in Watertown, Wisconsin, giving back to my community through creative work has always been important to me. I began volunteering with Watertown Riverfest in 2016, joining the committee and contributing design support across logos, brochures, posters, website graphics, and social media visuals for what has become one of Wisconsin’s largest annual community festivals.

Watertown Riverfest is a large-scale music and city festival that draws nearly 200,000 attendees each year, featuring national touring musicians, regional bands, carnival rides, an auto show, food vendors, fireworks, and family-friendly attractions along the Rock River. In 2023, the festival officially transitioned into an LLC, and the committee wanted a refreshed visual identity that reflected the size, energy, and growth of the event. I led the rebrand, beginning with a new logo that remains in use today.

That year, I designed festival apparel, print and digital billboard advertising, and large-format on-site slideshow graphics highlighting daily schedules, performers, sponsors, and event features. These visuals played throughout the three-day festival, helping guide attendees while maintaining consistent branding across stages, vendor areas, and public spaces.

Balancing this level of creative involvement alongside full-time work and my own design business eventually became unsustainable, and I stepped away the following year. I’m proud of the work completed during a pivotal moment in Riverfest’s history and grateful to have contributed to a festival that continues to bring the Watertown community, visitors from across Wisconsin, and national audiences together each summer.

The 2023 logo redesign debuted publicly via the Watertown Daily Times (link below), introducing the refreshed Riverfest brand to the community.
